Lincoln Museum

I loved coming here: the archaeology displays were fascinating and really gave you a sense of the ancient locals. The only disappointment was it was hard to see the mosaic and two tombstones next to it because a filled glass display had been placed right in front. The usher gallery had such a diverse mix, I loved that it combines classical gallery exhibitions with a room where a guy took 100 photos on his iPhone. It shows people that anyone can be an artist and the ways it can support healing.

Really nice museum! Definitely worth a visit. The staff are very friendly and also explain something about the exhibits if you have any questions. I also thought it was great that you can try out lots of things, such as putting on a Roman helmet. The museum also has a small cinema room where we watched Jumanji (free of charge). A very great experience in the museum deserves 5 stars

I would love to write a review , but no one it seems can answer my simple question and appears to be disinterested ! We want to visit to see the dodecahedron and know it is on until September ! Our question is what actual date in September , despite phone calls and emails , that no one answered , we haven’t had an answer !

My visit to the Lincoln Museum was far more enjoyable than I anticipated. What I thought would be a brief exploration of Lincoln's history turned out to be a fantastical dive into the development of civilization. For a free venue, I was blown away by the quality of the museum. The museum excels at using a variety of engaging mediums, with many interactive displays, games to play, and recreations available to access for free among the vast amount of informative exhibits. The collection of historic items is impressive, featuring relics from the Romans, Vikings, and more. The museum itself is very modern, the building is beautiful, and the air conditioning was a godsend on a hot summer day. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. We even had a few interesting conversations with other visitors who were passionate about discussing history. If I have to find something to critique, it would be our experience returning in the evening for the launch of the games expo. The website stated a 6 pm start, but when we visited earlier in the day, the posters, flyers, and desk staff all said 5 pm. When we arrived at 5 pm, everything was locked, and we weren't allowed in until 6 pm. This was an inconvenience, as it used up our holiday time and required us to pay for parking. The expo itself was fine but did not exceed our expectations. Despite this minor inconvenience, my overall experience at the Lincoln Museum was outstanding, and I highly recommend it to anyone interested in history and interactive exhibits.

A pearl on the hillside, it is a wonderfully soulful place, with a North European feel to it, with great exhibits and a bountiful shop. The star attraction is the dodecahendron. I fell into discussion about this with a Romanian chap about thr artefact, very interesting. Highly recommended, watch the opening hours.

Great museum for families/kids free entry lots to see & do, nice cafe & gift shop on site, toilets are clean & outdoor seating in the summer for the cafe, nice seating out the front with benches on a big hill with views of Lincoln, see if you can spot the item hanging from the ceiling which has been made of plastic items found on a beach
